I’m about to share all-natural skincare secret that will help you glow naturally, and the best part is you can make it yourself for just a few dollars. Additionally, if you’ve been searching for the best natural skincare routine for glowing skin, you’re in the right place.

I wanted glowing skin that I didn’t have to pay hundreds for at a spa. Finding a product that can give you that  renewed and youthful looking skin without being exposed to harsh toxins like phthalates, parabens was difficult. As a result I decided to go back to nature and embrace the power of all-natural products that have been used for centuries.

One of the easiest, most effective, and budget-friendly skincare solutions I’ve found is a simple DIY exfoliant made from baking soda and coconut oil. Yup, you read that right. This powerful duo offers a chemical-free way to revive, renew, and protect your skin—all from the comfort of your home.

Skincare Secrets for Radiant,

Healthy Glowing Skin a (DIY) Guide

Many commercial skincare products contain hormone-disrupting chemicals that can cause long-term damage to your skin and overall health. Instead of relying on synthetic ingredients, why not use what nature provides? Baking soda and coconut oil create the perfect plant-based alternative to expensive store-bought, chemical laden exfoliants without disrupting your hormones.

Why go Natural?

The Benefits of Baking Soda & Coconut Oil for Your Skin

Your chemical free skincare routine does not have to be difficult or complicated. This simple DIY exfoliant for clear skin is simple, effective and it’s budget friendly.

Gentle Yet Effective Exfoliation – Baking soda is a natural exfoliant that helps remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and leaves your skin feeling smooth and refreshed—without the harsh microbeads found in synthetic scrubs and commercial exfoliators.

Deep Hydration & Skin Barrier Protection – Coconut oil is packed with moisturizing fatty acids along with Vitamins E and K that nourish dry skin and soothe irritation. For instance, coconut oil also forms a protective barrier to lock in hydration. No more worrying about dry, flaky skin!

Anti-Bacterial & Healing Properties – Both baking soda and coconut oil have natural anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, helping to fight acne, reduce redness, and promote healing for irritated or sensitive skin.

How to Make & Use This DIY Exfoliant

First off, creating this all-natural face and body scrub takes less than 5 minutes and costs just pennies per use so let’s get started.

Ingredients: *this is a 1:1 ratio* (Just remember however much you decide to make use the 1:1 ratio, i.e.  5 tbs baking soda and 5 tbs coconut oil)
✔ 1 tablespoon baking soda
✔ 1 tablespoon coconut oil (organic, unrefined for best results)

Note: Not all coconut oils are created equal. Depending upon the processing methods many brands contain high levels of hormone disrupting phthalates which is what we are trying to avoid. I’ve linked 2 brands here that have been lab tested and show the lowest numbers possible of other brands on the market. You can find them here and here.

Directions:

1. Soften the coconut oil by warming it briefly in the microwave or on the stovetop.
2. Mix the baking soda and softened coconut oil together in a small bowl until a smooth paste forms.
3. Gently massage a nickel sized amount onto damp skin using circular motions.
4. Let it sit for 1 minute for extra hydration.
5. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
6. Follow with your favorite all-natural moisturizer, such as tallow balm cream or a facial serum.

Pro Tip #1: Use this scrub 1–2 times per week for the best results. Finally, note that no matter how gentle an exfoliant is over doing it can disrupt your skin’s natural balance, so be gentle and don’t over do it!

Pro Tip #2: Use this amazing mixture to exfoliate your hands. The baking soda acts as a gentle exfoliant and the coconut oil adds the moisture your skin desperately needs and provides a soothing barrier for your skin from cold winter temps. Note: your skin may be dry due to commercial soaps (many have alcohol and other drying agents in them. If you would like to add a moisturizing cleanser I recommend this all natural tallow soap from Sky&Sol. (Using my link you will get an additional 10% off your purchase.) Their products are legit 100% all natural and top rated. I personally use many of their products and highly recommend them.

Save Time, Save Money, and Glow Naturally

Summing up…by making this simple all-natural exfoliant at home, you’re not only saving money, but also eliminating toxins from your skincare routine. No more overpriced scrubs filled with chemical preservatives—just pure, nourishing ingredients from nature that you can feel good about.
